The first Smart Grids Africa conference will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from July 28-30, 2008.

The theme of the conference is: “Building a smart grid infrastructure to ensure supply security for 2010 and beyond.”

Smart Grids Africa will explore the opportunities for a smart grid infrastructure in Africa, looking at the steps that would need to be taken to transition the existing power delivery assets into a next generation system and the additional benefits that could be realised from this, such as better revenue protection, improved maintenance of the network, energy management, etc.

If you would like to participate as a speaker or conduct a training session/workshop, please contact the conference manager, Julia Barton-Hill: julia.barton-hill@spintelligent.com

We look forward to receiving abstracts of proposed presentations of up to 500 words until March 31, 2008.
