The Metering Central America & Caribbean conference and exhibition takes place in Bogotá, Colombia from 21–23 February 2007 and will highlight the transformation of revenue streams in water, electricity and gas utilities through metering.
The event will be the premier regional opportunity to learn about and promote breakthrough research and technologies, meet colleagues, and improve professional edge in the new distribution utility enterprise.
“A lot of exciting developments, ranging from basic to advanced metering, are currently taking place in countries across Central America and the Caribbean. Colombia, which has played a pioneering role in implementing new meter technologies, provides a gateway to this diverse region,” says Jonathan Spencer Jones, Editor of Metering International magazine.
The event features over 30 industry-elite speakers, giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about implementing an AMR system, the latest available advanced metering technologies, prepayment metering solutions, taking customer service to new levels, improving utility revenue flows, using energy efficiently, regulatory frameworks around metering and customer services, and new standards and best practices.
Highlights of the program include keynote presentations by José Alejandro Inostroza, General Manager, Codensa, Colombia, Anthon Casperson, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Aqualectra, Curaçao, and José María Almacellas, President, Gas Natural, Colombia.
The conference and exhibition will form part of Latin America Prepayment Week (LAPW). LAPW will look at how prepayment technology can be utilized as a revenue assurance and customer service tool, as well as an enhanced service for energy savings.
