Marc Boillot, senior vice president at ERDF, in charge of strategy and project development, has been elected as the new chairman of the G3-PLC Alliance.

Marc Delandre, project director at ERDF, was elected general secretary of the Alliance, and Jean-Luc Estienne, group vice-president, Sales & Marketing France at STMicroelectronics, as the treasurer.

Boillot started his career at EDF R&D. He then worked in North America for ten years, opening the EDF representative office in Washington DC in 1990 and in 1997 becoming head of Gaz de France Quebec. In 2000 he was appointed head of the Clermont Ferrand distribution area. From 2003 as EDF Commerce regional director in Lyon, he participated to the opening of the electricity and gas markets. He then joined the EDF Group strategy division where he had the responsibility over international projects strategy. He is graduated from IEG-INP Grenoble and has a MBA from Université McGill.

The G3-PLC Alliance was formed in 2010 to support and implement the G3-PLC powerline communication standard in smart grid applications.

The elections were held at the Alliance’s Strategic Steering Committee meeting in September and are for a two-year term.
