Progress Energy has announced that Jeff Corbett, currently based in St. Petersburg as senior vice president of Energy Delivery for Progress Energy Florida, will return to the Carolinas in that same role, and that Michael Lewis, currently vice president of Distribution for Progress Energy Florida, has been promoted to senior vice president of Energy Delivery for PEF, replacing Corbett.

The changes take effect January 2, 2008.

Corbett has worked for the company since 1999 after nearly two decades at Virginia Power. Before assuming his current position in May 2006, he served as vice president of Distribution for PEC, and as vice president of PEC's Eastern Region in Wilmington, N.C. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Lewis has worked for the company for 22 years. Before assuming his current position in 2004, he served as vice president of the Coastal Region in Florida. He has been in management roles of increasing responsibility since 1989 in Ocala, Crystal River and Pasco and Pinellas counties. Lewis earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Florida and a master's degree in business administration from Nova University.
