Metering International will be hosting the 1st Metering, Billing/CRM India conference from October 16-18, 2007 in New Delhi, India. The event, featuring international and local best practices and case studies, will present the right strategic approach and technologies for Indian utilities to reach their goals set by the country’s Accelerated Power Development and Reform Programme (APDRP).
Jayant Srinivas Kawale, Joint Secretary of Distribution at the Ministry of Power, will officially open this international metering event. Mr Dhup, General Manager of NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), will give an update on the distribution reform programme during the opening session.
Other highlights include a workshop on prepayment featuring international case studies from South Africa, South America and the Philippines, as well as a pre-conference seminar on standards and regulations, which will be presented by the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI).
The main conference programme includes sessions on other pertinent topics including AMR, billing and revenue protection. Leading IT companies will discuss the role of IT in effective utility management on the second conference day, while the closing session will include a panel that will discuss a new regulatory framework for utilities.
