Campinas, Brazil --- (METERING.COM) --- June 3, 2010 - As a new step in the company's investments in research and development Brazilian energy supplier CPFL Energia has entered into a partnership with Norwegian electric vehicle manufacturer THINK.

CPFL Energia will initially bring to Brazil three of THINK’s City vehicles, which will be showcased at the Michelin Challenge Bibendum in Rio de Janeiro.

“Sustainable mobility is occupying an increasingly larger position on the political and environmental agenda in Brazil and CPFL wants to be ahead of that movement,” said CPFL Energia CEO Wilson Ferreira Junior. “We are very pleased with the support that THINK is giving us to work together in Brazil.”

The partnership with THINK expands CPFL Energia’s electric vehicle program, which was initiated in 2006. Other initiatives the company is participating include the Palio Weekend (in partnership with Fiat and Itaipu), an electric motorbike (together with Unicamp) and ARIS (an electric vehicle designed by Brazilian company EDRA in partnership with CPFL Energia).

The THINK City is an all-electric vehicle, with a maximum speed of 110 km/h and a range of 160 km on a single charge from a conventional household outlet.
