UtiliPoint International Inc. has appointed Patti Harper-Slaboszewicz as director of the company's new AMR and Demand Response unit. She was previously a senior market research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

LONMARK International has appointed new representatives to the board of directors. Earl Gray, George Huettel and Tracy Markie represent the Americas; Thomas Choo, Katsuhiro Moizumi and Kunimitsu Nakano are the Asia Pacific representatives, and Christoph Broennimann, Gabriel Garcia and Sebastian Kühne represent Europe.

UK regulator Ofgem has announced the appointment of Charles Gallacher as associate director for Scotland. Scotland intends to introduce a fully competitive wholesale electricity market in 2005.

EdF Energy (originally London Electricity) has appointed Bob Kite as director of account management at the company's Doxford customer services centre. Kite has previously had over 30 years of service at Seeboard, much of them in customer services management.

Wayne Brunetti, chairman and CEO of Xcel Energy Inc., has been elected chairman of the Edison Electric Institute – the trade association of shareholder-owned electricity companies, international affiliates and associates worldwide. Brunetti will be supported by Michael G Morris, chairman, president and CEO of American Electric Power, who was elected first vice-chairman, and James E “Jim” Rogers, chairman, president and CEO of Cinergy Corp., who was elected second vice-chairman.
