California city seeks partner for AMI deployment

US utility Pittsburg Power Company issued a tender for the supply of an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system.

The utility is planning to replace its existing analog electric and gas meters with AMI meters to improve accuracy in energy billing and reduce its meter reading costs.

The tender includes the supply of smart meters, installation and management of meter data collection hardware and software and a Head End software.

Shortlisted firms will perform on‐site presentations of their proposals between February 16, 2017 to March 17, 2017.

The utility serves 544 electric and gas consumers in Mare Island in Valleys, California.
