Fayetteville, NC, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- March 6, 2008 – The Public Works Commission of Fayetteville in North Carolina has signed a contract with Nighthawk Systems Inc., a provider of remote control systems, for the purchase of Nighthawk’s CEO-700 wireless disconnect units. The electric utility division of the PWC of Fayetteville, the fifth largest city in the state, serves some 67,000 customers.

The CEO-700 gives electric utilities the ability to wirelessly disconnect and reconnect power to residential electric meters from a centralized location. This saves the utility time and money over the traditional manual disconnect method that requires multiple truck rolls and field personnel.

"The ever-increasing demand for energy and limited new supply continues to create both upward price pressure on electricity as well as a resurgent interest in intelligent power control solutions," says H. Douglas Saathoff, Nighthawk's CEO. “There is no doubt that the Nighthawk product line provides significant cost savings to our customers.”
