The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) has announced that Southern Co., Duke Energy Corp. and Allegheny Energy Inc. tied for the highest ranking in customer satisfaction among US electricity service providers. This was the seventh consecutive year that Southern Co. had been ranked at the top of utility companies, and it also tied for the fourth highest ranking overall among all company sectors.

ACSI is a national economic indicator for customer evaluations of the quality of products and services available to household consumers in the US. Companies were ranked based on customer responses in six key areas – perceived quality, customer expectations, perceived value, customer satisfaction, customer complaints and customer loyalty.
