Boulder, CO, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- September 9, 2011 - Tendril, provider of a cloud platform for the energy internet, now works with all of the top advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) communications suppliers, making it, the company says, “the de facto cloud technology platform for providing real time communications and control from the meter to the home and from the cloud to beyond the meter.”

Tendril has integrated its Tendril Connect(TM) platform with Elster, Itron, Landis+Gyr, Sensus and Silver Spring Networks, which together represent 85 percent of the North American smart meter communications market.

Integrating the Tendril Connect cloud platform with smart meters means that all communication is done locally, allowing for the delivery of real time energy consumption information to the consumer. As a result, utilities and energy service providers are afforded more meaningful communications with consumers, as well as the tools necessary to progressively extract greater value and control from the interactions in the form of energy efficiency, demand response and direct load control programs, and, eventually, whole home orchestration.

“Information is nothing without control,” said Adrian Tuck, CEO of Tendril. “Over the last seven years, we did the heavy lifting required to build a cloud platform that works with a wide array of meters and communications protocols to give energy service providers a way to liberate more value from their meter infrastructure investments, and leverage tools to more closely connect with their consumers. Today, that is paying off.”

Tendril's partnerships with AMI communications vendors includes co-selling and reselling partnerships, which it has with Landis+Gyr, Elster, Itron and Sensus, as well as meter and platform integration agreements, which it has with Landis+Gyr, Elster, Itron, Sensus and Silver Spring Networks.
