US Intelligent lighting systems provider Digital Lumens has partnered with Schneider Electric to enhance energy efficiency in buildings.In a press statement, Brian Chemel, Co-Founder of Digital Lumens said: “By integrating with building management systems like Schneider's SmartStruxure solution, we can arm customers with unprecedented views into how their facilities really work.”

At the same time, Schneider Electric will also use Digital Lumens’ energy management and data analytics solution LightRules to help its customers to manage energy costs through the provision of real time data on energy consumption of buildings’ HVAC systems.

The partnership is placed under Schneider Electric’s Silicon Valley Innovation Center which helps companies to further research and develop their IoT and energy management technologies.

Paul Campbell, Vice President of the Innovation division at Schneider Electric added: “By working together to leverage connected technologies, we can tap into new capabilities that provide our customers with enhanced energy management and automation solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, reliability and safety.”

The collaboration follows deployment of Digital Lumen’s lighting solution in more than 300 million square feet in over 45 countries.

Smart lighting tech development

In related news, US headquartered energy management company Magnum Energy Solutions (MES) partnered with lighting technology firm, Future Lighting Solutions (FLS).

Under the partnership, FLS will market, promote and distribute Magnum's wireless lighting control products.

The partnership will focus on Magnum’s new OPUS line of fixture-integrated smart lighting products.

In a press statement, Magnum claims its OPUS fixture nodes enable individual fixture control for both high bay and low bay luminaires, covering DALI, PWM and 0-10V dim-to-off compatibility.

Mike Giorgi, CEO of Magnum, commented: "We recognized the substantial advantages in partnering with a large semiconductor distributor.

"Future Lighting Solutions is already strongly positioned with a host of lighting OEMs and we also value how their team is uniquely poised on the forefront of wireless technologies.

“We see this strategic partnership as beneficial to reach a global audience of manufacturers to enable smart, energy efficient lighting products,” reiterated Mike.
