Montreal, Quebec, Canada --- (METERING.COM) --- November 29, 2006 – Olameter Inc., a provider of IT solutions, field operations, and meter sales and service to utilities across North America, servicing over 2.5 million electric, water, and gas meters, has announced a strategic alliance with EnergyICT Inc. that will support the growth of its meter data services initiatives in both the wholesale and retail utility markets. EnergyICT is a global provider of large-scale interval meter data collection, processing, and management solutions, with its headquarters in Belgium.
The alliance means that Olameter has become the exclusive application service provider (ASP) of EnergyICT’s EIServer® in Canada. The company currently offers ASP smart metering data collection services using multiple AMI technologies via a web portal that provides system monitoring, reporting, and integration of data into back-office or off-line systems.
Now Olameter has added the EIServer software to its suite of ASP data collection systems, which also includes Elster MAS, Itron fixed network, and SmartSynch TMS systems. “EnergyICT is pleased to have a partner as experienced and well-established as Olameter within Canada,” said Claude Godin, President of EnergyICT. “We are confident that this relationship will benefit the marketplace by providing a comprehensive solution offering.”
EIServer has been implemented at over 450 sites worldwide, including the largest production interval meter data collection system in the world. EnergyICT has designed its flagship data warehouse solution with the latest proven technologies and an emphasis on business logic analysis, resulting in an open architecture that can easily be expanded. “Olameter recognizes that EIServer is unmatched in its market, and is a robust, proven and scalable solution for data collection and warehousing,” said Brent Williams, Olameter’s Vice President of IT Solutions.
“EIServer is a strong addition to our data collection and management offering, supportive of our meter service provider operations, and a viable smart meter data management solution for many of Canada’s local distribution companies.”
