Gaithersburg, MD, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- September 13, 2012 - Eleven new standards have been voted into the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel’s Catalog of Standards – bringing to 39 the number of standards or standards components now included in the Catalog.

The new entries in the Catalog are:

  • IEC 60870 Standards Family (3 parts): Telecontrol protocols compatible with ISO standards and ITU-T recommendations
  • NISTIR 7628: Guidelines for Smart Grid Cyber Security
  • ANSI C12 Standards Family (6 parts): American National Standards for Electricity Meters
  • IEC 61850-90-5: Communication Networks and Systems for Power Utility Automation.

A further 10 standards are nearing completion of the review process and are likely to be presented to the SGIP Governing Board at its next meeting on October 18.
