San Antonio Water System (SAWS) has extended its annual agreement with Marketing Cents to continue monthly promotions of SAWS' online bill payment service. The promotion offers incentives to local community merchants that are displayed on the back of SAWS' billing envelopes.

E-bill enrolment increased from 8,205 customers in March 2004 to 30,250 in March 2005, and by May the numbers had reached over 37,000. SAWS estimates that it has approximately 150,000 Internet-enabled customers.

Marketing Cents' patent pending online adoption programme guides SAWS customers while they view their bill. In order to redeem the incentive, customers must go online to a specific web landing page for the printable coupon to the local merchant. This web page also displays the benefits of online bill payment, and a direct link to the SAWS e-bill enrolment page.
