DAP Technologies, manufacturer or rugged mobile hardware solutions in harsh environments, has expanded its product portfolio with the new Microflex CE5000X – a handheld computer designed for data collection in harsh environments. Developed on the latest Intel RISC processor platform, the CE5000X uses the PXA255 processor running at 400 MHz, allowing it to collect and transmit data quickly and efficiently.
The new computer is available with a sunlight readable QVGA transflective TFT colour display with LED backlighting. It is also available with a grey scale display for customers who do not require colour. It runs on the Windows CE .NET (4.2) operating system, which allows it to support third party application software or custom-developed applications. The CE5000X is shock resistant (MIL-STD-810F) sealed against water ingress (IP67) and operates in temperatures from -20ºC to +50ºC.
