Mexico City, Mexico and Raleigh, NC, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- June 27, 2012 - Mexico’s national utility Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) has designated Elster’s manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi as an approved supplier of electricity meters.

With this certification, Elster is expanding its production capacity to include electric meters at the facility, to meet anticipated growing demand from CFE and other customers in North America. CFE generates, distributes and markets electric power for approximately 34.2 million customers.

“Elster is growing in North America and we are pleased to be adding this additional capacity at San Luis Potosi, which has been producing Elster products for more than ten years,“ said Ed Myszka, president of Elster Solutions. “By taking advantage of production facilities located closer to some of our customers in Mexico and in the U.S., we are better able to provide business continuity and service dependability.“

To date the San Luis Potosi facility, part of Elster-Amco, has focused on the production of diaphragm gas meters for the Latin American market.
