Feldkirch, Austria and San Jose, CA, U.S.A. ---(METERING.COM) --- June 22, 2007 – After a successful advanced metering pilot project lasting a year, Stadtwerke Feldkirch, the municipal utility for the city of Feldkirch, Austria, has announced its intention to expand the project scope to an additional 3,000 customers. The project uses Echelon’s Networked Energy Services (NES) system.
NES Value-Added Reseller SITRONICS Telecom Solutions will provide the advanced metering solution, including their NES-based UTILIS real-time meter management system, to provide better customer service at lower cost. The system will also allow Stadtwerke Feldkirch to fulfill obligations under European Energy directives to provide customers with information that enables more efficient energy use. Following a successful 330 household pilot project started last June, this new award increases the project scope.
