New Orleans, LA, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- May 28, 2007 – New Orleans Sewer and Water Board (NOS and WB) will use Sensus Metering Systems’ FlexNet advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) solution to read meters in the city – including some meters that have not been read since Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005.

The trial calls for the deployment of 2,200 Sensus meters, to be read by the FlexNet communications system, and will last for 12 months.

“Our need for accurate meter data in this scarce labor market led us to test the Sensus FlexNet system,” said Jacqueline Shine, NOS and WB Revenue Administrator. “We require the financial benefits and operational efficiencies that this technologically advanced metering system will provide to our customers.”
