Paris, France --- (METERING.COM) --- October 30, 2012 - French meter and technology provider Sagemcom has acquired the German metering data management software company, The Froschl Group, the company has announced.

Thanks to this acquisition, the Sagemcom group, for which energy management is one of its three major activities via its subsidiary, Sagemcom Energy & Telecom, has enriched its range and confirmed its aim to become one of the world key players in smart metering solutions, the company said in a statement.

 The addition of Froschl's expertise in metering data processing software ideally completes the current portfolio of Sagemcom and should boost group growth via the acquisition of new customers.

The Froschl group consists of two companies (ITF, Industrie-Technik Froschl and EDV, Elektronische Datenverarbeitung), employs 70 and provides support for more than 250 customers throughout the world with services and consultancy teams.
