RWE cloud computing

German utility RWE has implemented a cloud-based platform to manage customer communications and output management operations at its Czech Republic subsidiary.The enterprise communications cloud-based platform sourced from Italian technology and services company Doxee is expected to boost the efficiency of RWE’s Czech Republic operations while enabling better cost controls.

Michael Neff, CIO at RWE, said: “Our long-term, global strategy is focused on transitioning to a SaaS business model for delivery of innovative, cloud-based customer communications and output management.”

Vitek Burda, IT manager, RWE Czech Republic Branch, added: "We selected Doxee for our legacy OMS system and due to its successful implementation chose to upgrade to a cloud-based SaaS solution. Doxee meets the rigorous performance and data security requirements we have for our most business-critical applications, and delivers all the benefits of the cloud.

"We expect to lower our IT costs, have faster upgrades, improve our efficiency and integrate with cloud applications that enhance the customer experience."

The system manages yearly production of 13 million printed pages, 16.6 million archived pages and more than 300,000 email pages, including print and electronic invoices, customer care correspondence and marketing campaigns.

According to a media release, Burda says that RWE is considering the deployment of additional Doxee solutions in the near future: eDox Interactive Communications for interactions and deeper engagements with transactional statement and invoice data on the Web, and Doxee Personalized Video for enhancing communications with video.

Doxee’s chief executive, Muratori Casali concluded by saying: "Our Doxee cloud solution delivers a competitive advantage to RWE today and puts them on a path to develop an unparalleled customer experience.”
