GÖRLITZ AG, supplier of AMR and data gathering and transmission systems to the C&I sector, has announced an agreement with Echelon Corporation whereby GÖRLITZ will base its system offering for the residential metering market on Echelon's networked energy services (NES) system. GÖRLITZ will join Echelon's NES Value-Added Reseller (VAR) programme, which is designed to establish the NES system as a global standard for intelligent utility management systems.
The liberalisation of energy markets across Europe has seen the demand for smart energy management systems increase. GÖRLITZ's EMETRION meter portfolio extends the existing EDW3000 and Skalar metering system platforms with next-generation integrated meter solutions. Echelon's NES system will allow GÖRLITZ to expand into the high volume metering market – the combined solution offers customers access to an extensive set of new applications that will integrate seamlessly with their existing IT metering infrastructure.
