Issy-les-Moulineaux, France and Singapore, Asia --- (METERING.COM) --- June 17, 2008 – Wavecom SA, a provider of industrial wireless technology, has announced a collaboration with EDMI Limited, a manufacturer of AMI systems, for launching advanced metering infrastructure to markets in Australia and New Zealand.

AMI provides solutions that reduce both labor and the high maintenance costs of metering by efficiently managing meters remotely. At the same time it helps with load and energy management. The partnership between EDMI and Wavecom will offer utilities a complete, cost-effective solution for the AMI market in Oceania.

EDMI Ltd., headquartered in Singapore, has chosen Wavecom’s Wireless CPU® to use in its advanced MK10 and MK 7 electronic energy meters to provide a wireless AMM solution for a leading utility in New Zealand. The first phase will involve rolling out 55,000 EDMI meters with Wavecom-based wireless technology.
