Colombo, Sri Lanka --- (METERING.COM) --- July 2, 2010 - Sri Lanka's state owned electricity company, Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) is to introduce a smart metering system before year-end.

In a recent report in the publication ColomboPage, the newly appointed CEB chairman Vidya Amarapala, who made the announcement, was quoted as saying that the system would modernize the entire metering system. It will also offer the customers the possibility of prepaid packages, as well as previous day information on their usage and their monthly electricity bill.
