Jaipur, India --- (METERING.COM) --- November 29, 2006 – Customers of Indian utility Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL) will soon receive monthly bills that will be delivered at the time their meters are read.

Starting January 2007, a Jaipur-based company has been appointed by JVVNL to handle the meter reading and billing for its 500,000 customers. Meters will then be read monthly, as opposed to the present every two months, and the bill will be printed out and handed to consumers immediately.

The utility says the new system will reduce the number of customer complaints, and will also allow it to improve its revenue collection process considerably.
