The meter has moved from a position of relative unimportance some years ago
to one of critical importance within the utility chain. This change has been rapid and dramatic and has been driven by different factors in different regions. These factors include deregulation and competition, privatisation, technological advances and an increased focus on the need for accurate and reliable data throughout the utility delivery process. There is a clear understanding that the meter and the underlying information technology back-end systems play central roles in assuring the utility revenue stream and consequently its survival.
This conference’s objective is to provide a platform where industry experts (utilities, regulators, government agencies, consultants and vendors) from both the African continent and other parts of the world can meet, share common experiences and discover solutions to address the diverse challenges faced by the industry today.
The main priorities for the electricity, water and gas sectors in Africa are to meet current demands and to apply new utility management processes in order to increase utility revenue through reliable technology systems such as metering, billing and CRM/CIS.
This event forms part of the global series of metering, billing and CRM/CIS events which take place annually in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Americas.
