Palm Beach water AMI tender
Palm Beach Country is seeking an AMI water system that can interface with meters from other manufacturer

In the US, Palm Beach County has issued a tender for an advanced metering infrastructure for the Palm Beach County Water Utilities Department (PBCWUD).

The county stated the aim of the AMI water system procurement was to improve the efficiency of collecting monthly water utility meter data, billing, and customer communication.

The water meters need to meet American Water Works Association (AWWA) cold water meter standards with respect to accuracy and pressure loss requirements, or other appropriate AWWA standards with parts reference, flow capacity, pressure loss, accuracy, physical dimensions, design, and materials of construction.

The water meter must also be compliant with NSF/ANSI Standard 61 Annex F&G.

The water meter shall be warranted and guaranteed accurate to ¼ GPM @ 98.5% or better for a minimum of ten (10) years.

While Palm Beach County intends to use all materials from one manufacturer, the chosen AMI water system will need to interface with meters from other manufacturers.

At a minimum, the contractors' product shall have the following minimum interoperability:

1) be able to interface with Neptune and Sensus meters equipped with encoded registers. 2) the above stated third party brands shall interface without voiding warranty of either the proposed AMI transmitter or the underlying meter with which it is being interfaced.

Respondents must show experience in supplying similar AMI services and meet all the requirements outlined in the RFP.

Interested parties should submit complete proposals to the Offices of the Purchasing Department no later than 28 September 28, at 16h00 local time.
