European Utility Week is looking beyond smart metering. Roll outs of smart meters are well under way in much of Europe, and elsewhere there are clear deadlines by which time deployment should be completed. So, the question now becomes, ‘what comes next?’. If smart meters are just a door way, then what lays beyond represents the content for much of the European Utility Week conference, with issues covered ranging from monetization, data management, security, integration, and intelligent asset management.

On October 15-17 we will hear from the leading regulators and utilities pioneering the integration of smart metering into the smart grid infrastructure. Join us in Amsterdam and hear:

  • E.ON discuss their work on continuing to engage the consumer in order to promote the effectiveness of the smart meter
  • British Gas elaborate on their experiences in deploying a huge number of smart meters across the UK and what their plans are to capitalize on this infrastructure
  • The Deputy Chairman of the Japan Smart Community Alliance speak on the achievement and benefits of using an open system smart metering infrastructure in Japan in the wake of the changes which came about post-Fukushima
  • Manuel Sánchez Jiménez, Team Leader Smart Grids, DG Energy, European Commission, present his latest research on the development of smart metering across Europe and his views on what the next steps are
