The City of Vero Beach has concluded an agreement to deploy the PRISM Real-time outage management system (OMS) from utility information systems provider, Advanced Control Systems.
The system will enable the adding of highperformance network maps and sophisticated feeder modeling and automation to Vero Beach’s recently upgraded PRISM SCADA system. The existing GIS maps will be used to create a distribution network model, which will support visualisation of the entire network, down to the customer transformer level, and enable advanced applications to enhance customer service and satisfaction. Among these are secure webbased reporting and dispatch, performance index calculations, and feeder fault detection, isolation and restoration.
PRISM OMS brings realtime information to outage management, including the ability to view geographic and circuit data on the same display, as well as covers trouble call taking and management, comprehensive ticket handling, crew management and interfaces to the city’s CIS and IVR systems.
