African Utility Week Industry Awards gala dinner takes place on Wednesday, 13 May at the CTICC

The organisers of African Utility Week have announced the finalists for the annual Industry Awards for the power and water sector taking place next week in Cape Town.

The industry awards event, which is part of the 3-day conference and exhibition between 12-14 May, is expected to attract 700 of Africa’s power and water industry professionals to recognise those that represent a benchmark of excellence for the industry, the event organiser Spintelligent said.

Categories include Power Utility of the Year Award, Clean Energy Project of the Year, Municipality of the Year, with a new category added this year - Outstanding Woman in Power/Water Award.

The panel of judges include Brian Dames, former CEO of Eskom, South Africa; Sam Amadi, chairman & CEO of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission in Nigeria; Musara Beta, chief market analyst, at Southern African Power Pool in Zimbabwe; and Ayanda Nakedi, senior general manager, Renewables Business Unit, at Eskom, South Africa.
