Significant progress in consumer engagement in Australia but gulf remains
[img:SGA%20logo_0.jpg| ]Sydney, Australia --- (METERING.COM) --- November 28, 2012 - Over the past year there has been significant progress in generating solid consumer engagement in Australia but there is still a gulf in awareness and knowledge of the impact of energy consumption behavior that utilities need to bridge in order to engage consumers and recruit their help in alleviating stresses on the grid, according to a new report from Smart Grid Australia.


European smart grid projects get EEGI labeling
[img:label_0.jpg| ]Milan, Italy --- (METERING.COM) --- November 28, 2012 - European smart grid projects that are in line with the objectives and working principles of the European Electricity Grids Initiative (EEGI) are now able to obtain an “EEGI Core” label denoting this status.

Projects are evaluated by experts from the EEGI and GRID+ project teams.

To date four projects have been awarded EEGI Core status – Twenties, Grid4EU, InovGrid, and EcoGrid EU.


Four new members join Meters and More Association

Meter data management varies across Europe, CEER finds
[img:CEER.jpg| ]Brussels, Belgium --- (METERING.COM) --- November 26, 2012 - There is a diversity of approaches to meter data management (MDM) across Europe with the most common appearing to have centralized access and decentralized storage, according to a new review from the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER).

This is the case in five of the nine countries reviewed – Austria, Belgium, Great Britain, Spain (for gas), and the Netherlands.


Five smart grid projects awarded £45.5 million funding in Britain

Five smart grid projects have been awarded a total of £45.5 million in the third round of funding from Ofgem’s Low Carbon Networks Fund.

The five projects are:

South East Water awards contract for up to 120,000 boundary boxes to Elster
