Regional Editor: Europe (UK) Alan Dick established Lecmet Consulting after leaving the Electricity Association. A chartered electrical engineer, he has spent 42 years in the UK electricity industry, latterly specialising in metering. He provides services to the UK Metering Forum, which has funded work connected with the MID, is Chairman of BSI’s British National Committee for metering standards (PEL/13) and chairs EURELECTRIC’s expert group on metering standardisation; he was their representative in consultation meetings with the European Commission regarding the MID. Regional Editor: Russia Alexander Merkulov is Director for Development of JSC Lenenergo's retail company. He was educated at the Leningrad State Mechanical Institute and Baltic State Technical University, and has worked for various commercial organizations, the St. Petersburg city government (state property committee) and as Deputy Director of JSC Petroelectrosbyt (energy retail for residential customers).
