City Power MD to keynote at Smart Grids AfricaSilas Mzingeli Zimu, managing director of City Power, has agreed to do the inaugural address at the Smart Grids Africa event which will take place from July 28-30, 2008.
Zimu began his career an engineer with Eskom in 1992 and subsequently joined City Power as general manager: planning and technology, before being appointed to his current position in 2007. The value of assets under his control is R3 billion (US$383 million) and he manages a workforce of 1,900 people.
Zimu holds an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from Brighton Polytechnic and a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Warwick University.
