Athens, Greece --- (METERING.COM) --- January 13, 2009 - Greece’s Public Power Corporation (PPC) is expanding its deployment of ripple control receivers for tariff switching with a new order for 60,000 units.

The contract with Landis+Gyr Greece has the potential to increase to orders of up to 78,000 ripple control receivers. The receivers will be manufactured at Landis+Gyr’s factory in Montluçon, France and delivery is scheduled to take place in 2009.  

Previously, Landis+Gyr Greece won an international tender held by PPC in 2006 for the supply of 40,000 ripple control receivers. This contract was successfully executed, with the delivery of a total of 52,000 receivers between June 2007 and February 2008.

According to Landis+Gyr, load management is a key factor to efficient network management. “Our ripple control receivers give PPC flexibility to meet different consumer’s needs for tariff switching by utilizing existing network’s infrastructure,” said Dimitrios Avrampos, managing director of Landis+Gyr, Greece.
