Provider of MDM software solutions changes its name

Bloomington, MN, U.S.A. --- (METRING.COM) --- January 29, 2008 – Wireless Applications & Consulting Services, LLC (WACS), a provider of meter data management (MDM) software solutions and decision management technologies for electric, natural gas and water utilities, has announced the rebranding of the company to Ecologic Analytics, LLC.

The company’s meter data management system and related products will be branded with the new name and tag line: Ecologic Analytics™ Empowering Energy Efficiency™. This is the first phase of a larger effort to better align with the value proposition of utility projects and the ever-changing demands of data management strategies employed by utilities to improve operating efficiencies and ultimately make positive environmental impacts.

The word “ecology” is defined as the pattern of interrelationships between organisms and their environment. By combining ecology, logic and analytics, the company brings to life the interdependence between the environment and the actions of people; specifically, their energy usage and how the cumulative effect of small changes can result in a significant positive global impact. The Ecologic Analytics MDMS provides the software and analytics necessary to turn the data generated from automated meter reading (AMR) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) into actionable information across the utility enterprise to improve energy decisions.

The Energy Information Administration forecasts that the total world consumption of marketed energy will increase by 57 percent from 2004 to 2030. Globally, governments and energy producers are responding by moving toward policies and methods to create and distribute energy more effectively to reduce the environmental impact. The Ecologic Analytics brand brings a closer alignment to the value the company has delivered since 2001.

“We’re excited to reveal our new name and branding,” said Kristine Beck, co-founder and chief operations officer for Ecologic Analytics. “This new name brings greater clarity to the broader value we provide to the energy industry and to our environment.”

The company currently has more than 11 million endpoints under contract; last December it announced a strategic investment from Bayard Group.
