Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- January 23, 2013 - A two-way water metering solution has been added by Landis+Gyr to its Gridstream platform and is now available to utilities.

The two-way device enables near realtime access to critical water assets for visibility into current meter status, enabling utilities to address customer concerns and support advanced capabilities such as leak detection, reverse flow and tampering. Offering Gridstream network coverage across electric, gas and now water endpoints realizes system-wide command and control and single network management.

Available options include a 3-wire retrofit solution for existing pit and wall-mount AMR installations, as well as an integrated register and communications module for new AMI installations. All deliver an integrated, proactive and interoperable solution.

Gridstream RF uses an efficient radio mesh network to communicate with electric, gas and water meters, in-premise devices and distribution automation equipment. Gridstream devices use the Smart Energy Profile standard to communicate with smart appliances and in-home units.
