Parkash Singh Badal, Punjab Chief Minister

Ludhiana, India --- (METERING.COM) --- December 23, 2009 - Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has inaugurated a new state-of-the-art customer care and electricity complaint center for the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) in Ludhiana.

Such centers are also due to be opened at Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala, SAS Nagar (Mohali) and Bathinda at a cost of Rs18 crores (US$3.8 million). Subsequently they will also be provided to a further 47 towns and cities in the state.

Badal said that the idea for such centers was conceived in 2007, with a view to improving the power distribution system in the state.

PSEB chairman Harinder Singh Brar explained at the inauguration that the new center would be available around the clock for the customers to register complaints of all types, including release of new connections, wrong meter reading and faulty electricity bills, replacement of defective meters, pilferage/power theft, etc.  

Complaints would be logged for a speedy and efficient response.
