Ljubljana, Slovenia and Atlanta, GA, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- June 14, 2012 - The Slovenian state owned transmission system operator Elektro-Slovenija, d.o.o. is to implement a new national control center in Slovenia using the Network Manager™ SCADA/EMS solution from Ventyx.

Product licensing and implementation for the project is valued at $4.8 million.

The new system will facilitate cross-border power trades throughout the Central Southeast European region, helping ELES to meet the latest directives from the European Union, as well as rules from the European Networks of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).

“The system is a strategic technology upgrade that will improve critical functionality we need to further increase our operational security as well as the reliability of the power transmission network within Slovenia,” said ELES CEO, Milan Jevšenak. “Furthermore, the company clearly showed how the Ventyx EMS solution would help us maintain compliance in the most efficient way.”

The new system is expected to go live at the end of 2013.
