New partnerships with ELO Sistemas Eletronicos to bring smart grid solutions to South America

São Paulo, Brazil, Newton, MA and Alpharetta, GA, U.S.A. and Vancouver, Canada --- (METERING.COM) --- November 13, 2012 - In the last week three new partnerships have been announced with the Brazilian metering technology provider ELO Sistemas Eletronicos to bring new integrated smart grid solutions to Latin America.

These are with Ambient, provider of a secure, flexible and scalable smart grid communications and applications platform, utility payment solutions provider PayGo, and loss reduction solution provider Awesense Wireless.

The partnership with Ambient will integrate the company’s Smart Grid® Platform communications technology and network management software with ELO's metering solutions to enable ELO to bring advanced communications technologies for smart meter reading applications to its utility customers. The two companies expect to have the integrated system ready for pilot in 2012 in preparation for volume rollouts beginning in 2013.

The partnership with PayGo will integrate its patent pending, smart meter-based applications as well as its cloud-based customer enrollment and payment systems to deliver prepayment and post payment customer to cash services to ELO customers. PayGo’s unique prepayment technology can be provided as an app in the smart meter to deliver bill calculations and customer notifications, as required in the ANEEL specifications.

The Partnership with Awesense is integrating the Awesense senseNET revenue protection applications in ELO’s solutions, and ELO will also market Awesense’s Raptor, a portable wireless power monitor for power theft, load balance analysis, and smart meter verification among other applications. The integrated system is ready for pilots and volume rollouts are scheduled to be ready in mid Q4 of 2012.

“Providing effective solutions to reduce losses and protect revenue is part of our strategy for Brazil and other Latin American countries,” said Marcos Rizzo, ELO vice president of business development.
