Pretoria, South Africa and Skanderborg, Denmark --- (METERING.COM) --- February 11, 2013 - Danish metering solution provider Kamstrup has opened a local subsidiary in Pretoria, South Africa following a three year period of sales through local distributors.

This marks a strategic ramp up for Kamstrup in South Africa, where great potential is seen for the company’s smart metering products.

“As a result of a fast growing economy the country experiences booming energy demand, which stresses the energy production accordingly,” said Petrus van Heerden, the new country manager from February 1, 2013. “Smart metering offers an intelligent solution where a stable flow of information from the smart meters in residential areas will enable a stabilized energy supply as well as a predictable billing.”

Kamstrup South Africa (Pty) Ltd has office facilities in Hatfield, Pretoria. Hans Peter Kyk is general sales manager, and more staff are expected to be employed in the near future.
