Issy-les-Moulineaux. France --- (METERING.COM) --- January 16, 2013 - The Issy-les-Moulineaux smart grid project, IssyGrid, has been recognized by the city with a ‘Golden Issy’ as an initiative that is particularly outstanding and is contributing to its promotion and dynamism.

IssyGrid, being developed initially in the Seine Ouest business district before expansion to the rest of the city, is a project between EDF and distribution network manager ERDF, with Alstom, Bouygues Immobilier, Bouygues Telecom, ETDE, Microsoft, Schneider Electric, Steria, and Total. Its goal is to enable energy optimization from production to consumption atthe neighborhood level and includes smart metering, renewable generation, storage, public lighting, and electric vehicle infrastructure among other elements.

The project was launched in May 2011. In November 2012 Bouygues’ Sequana tower was connected to the network, followed by the Trieo de Safran, and in February 2013 Microsoft will be connected. In addition by March IssyGrid will control the electric lighting in the Seine Ouest district. In the summer the Fort d’Issy eco-housing development will also be supplied with the system.

IssyGrid was also awarded the “Grand Paris” award for exemplary initiatives in the construction of innovative and sustainable building.
