Rio de Janeiro, Brazil --- (METERING.COM) --- June 4, 2012 - Siemens has named its smart grid company acquisition in Brazil as Senergy, part of the Nansen group.

The Belo Horizonte-based company is a specialist in energy metering and smart metering solutions, including a portfolio of software and services to reduce electricity losses.

“With this acquisition, together with our local experience and other smart grid solutions, Siemens is positioned with an extremely competitive solution for the high demand market in Brazil,” said Guilherme Mendonça, Smart Grid Division Cluster lead in Brazil.

Senergy’s solutions have been deployed in companies of the Eletrobras group and in Cemig, among others.

In addition to its metering solutions, Senergy provides hardware and software solutions for remote monitoring in the oil and sanitation sectors.
