Vancouver, BC, Canada --- (METERING.COM) --- March 18, 2010 - BC Hydro has selected IT company Telvent’s Distribution Management System (DMS), the company has announced.

BC Hydro serves in area inhabited by more than 94 percent of British Columbia's population, amounting to 1.8 million customers.

Telvent’s integrated, scalable DMS solution will enhance BC Hydro’s ability to provide safe, secure and reliable energy supply to its customers particularly during major storms or unusual events.

“Implementing Telvent DMS allows for the future integration of distribution generation and green energy resources into its distribution grid,” commented Manuel Sanchez, Telvent’s chairman and CEO.

As part of the project, Telvent’s DMS and OASyS DNA SCADA system will be integrated as a single solution to allow BC Hydro to enable new system devices as well as optimize the distribution grid to reduce system losses.
