Asunción, Paraguay --- (METERING.COM) --- February 5, 2010 - Paraguay state utility Administración Nacional de Electricidad (ANDE) has put out an international tender for the supply of advanced metering infrastructure for the company’s large customers served at medium voltage level.

The system would comprise 400 points and would require bidirectional communication via GSM/GPRS/EDGE. Required capabilities include providing billing data to ANDE’s Open SGC commercial system and permitting remote control of the meters.

ANDE will finance the system from an Inter-American Development Bank loan.

The tender was initially due to close on February 12, but has been extended to March 19.
