AMR Meter Module Gains Approval In USA

Content Editor on Tue, 2005-11-01 08:16.
Hunt Technologies, a global provider of AMR solutions for electricity, water and gas utilities, has announced that its AirPoint FOCUS RF AMR meter module has been approved by the State of New York Department of Public Service as a device to emit meter data.

Landis+Gyr began development of the AirPoint FOCUS in June. The product integrates the ERT-compatible RF technology manufactured by Hunt Technologies with the Landis+Gyr solid state FOCUS® meter. The AirPoint module obtains a direct register read from the meter, and then transmits usage and demand data to a drive-by or walk-by transceiver. Hunt’s AirPoint technology provides the same features and functions as the Itron ERT, and is designed to interface with the Itron mobile collection system 1.0 and 2.0, as well as with off-site collection systems.
